Get the tractors!

It’s the end of August, so naturally Costco has their winter pajamas, boots and snowsuits out already! We went to pick up a few things last week and I was hoping to get some 2-piece winter PJ’s but they only had footed onesies. The LO tends to sleep without any covers on so maybe those aren’t so bad after all, aside from the fact that I hate them and potty training is around the corner!

She isn’t a fan of pink, and prefers blue, so when I saw a heather grey pair covered in multicolored woodland creatures I thought she would approve, or at least compromise. I showed them to her and got an immediate “no, pas ca” in response. I looked across the table and saw that the only other options were extra girly, so they wouldn’t do either. I was about to move on and then I saw her staring at something on the “boys” side of the table. I told her to go and choose one, thinking she would pick the goofy blue monster, but instead she pulled off another heather grey pair… covered in bright yellow tractors!

So, at least we agreed on the grey!

I found her size in the tractors and put them in the cart, choosing to get the woodland ones as well. This made her happy, and that is all I care about. I know some moms who would have been upset with this, others who would have simply chosen to get nothing and others who would have turned to the internet in search of answers to stop their little Princess from becoming a Prince. But, let’s be real here, she isn’t even 3yrs old yet!

Carter's Fleece Pajamas

Ironically on Saturday, while the LO dribbled a basketball and tried to shoot some hoops in an adult sized net, DH commented that we were raising Darlene from the old Roseanne sitcom. I thought about it, trying to understand the reference for a minute, and laughed out loud. It was true, and I am totally fine with that! I loved Darlene; still, do!

So, in the end, it’s about your child’s inner happiness – not what’s on their Pj’s. Get the tractors!

Note to self: find a new Halloween costume! Because last year's hand-me-down Bumble Bee tutu dress probably will not do!
