Fasting log: Day 1

It's time, let the Hunger Games begin!

This is day one of my 2 week fast. Technically I already cheated by having my usual Tim Horton's for breakfast, but I really didn't feel capable of breaking my morning routine on 1) a Friday and 2) the last day of hell week at work. So, with that our of the way, I am now officially going to starve myself to the operating room!

I am allowed 5 Boost Diabetic drinks a day, 4-5 cups of approved vegetables and sugar free jello. That's it folks! Thankfully it is only for 2 weeks and then a whole new lifestyle begins for me!

With that in mind, I admittedly spent the first 10 days of 2020 eating pretty much whatever I wanted and documenting along the way (take a look at @asecondbiteoftheapple). Now it's time I focus on the present!

Oh, and I have to admit, I've had Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" on repeat in my head these last days like an ode to my former diet:
At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
May the odds be ever in my favor! And to those around me in the coming days, I am sorry for anything I say in "hanger".
