Fasting log reboot: day 4
I should be 10 days post-op, but instead I am 4 days in to a new pre-op fast and 11 days away from my re-scheduled surgery.
Thanks to a malfunction of the ventilation system, all operating rooms at the hospital soared up to 98% humidity and had to be shut down for fear of water damage, mould and electrical issues arising. Everything is supposed to be back up and running by February 7th – fingers crossed!
In the meantime, I finally sorted out what to do with my fast. Initially the dietician said I had to do the full 14 days again, and then I got a call from the secretary saying she thought it was only 7 days but to follow what the dietician told me. After playing phone tag for a bit, I finally spoke to the dietician again and she put me on 7 days of a modified diet (low protein, carb and sugar) followed by the liquid fast for 7 days. I was jumping up and down for joy in the office hallway!
And, even better, the 7 day fast begins the day the operating rooms should open again so I will call first to be sure! That is, if anyone even has any information. It seems like media knows more than the employees do!
In any case, I am MUCH happier this time around. And I am better prepared for the 7 days of strict dieting as well. I cannot wait to get this all over and done with!
